↪️ How to pass fees on to the buyer

By default, you are responsible for paying Tixtree’s service fees and processing fees charged by Stripe or PayPal. If desired, you can choose to pass these fees on to the buyer in a few easy steps.

Transfer Fees

Step 1

Navigate to the "Settings" area, then click on "Transfer Fees" in the sidebar.

Step 2

Set the fees payer to "the ticket buyer".

Tixtree fees are clear and well known in advance thus they will be automatically added to the order total without requiring any additional action from you.

Step 3

Set the processing fees.

The percentage fee is calculated based on the total amount of the order.

The fixed fee is a flat fee added on top of the order total, regardless of the transaction amount.

Processing fees are slightly more complex because they depend on the payment processor you choose, the country where your business resides, the currency of your ticket types and the payment method used by the ticket buyer.

The vast majority of ticket buyers pay with domestic cards but if they pay with a card issued abroad, fees can be higher.

Please carefully read your payment processor pricing page before passing the fees on to the buyer:

Step 4

Click "save".

Fees calculation

The percentage fee and the fixed fee are factored into the final charge amount to ensure that you receive the desired amount, after the payment processor deducts the fee from the charge.

The formula applied is the following:

Order Total = (Organiser Desired Amount + Processor Fixed Fee + Tixtree Fixed Fee) / (1 - Processor Percentage Fee)
